What’s On Your Vanity?

I have seen so many pictures and videos of other peoples vanities and I am interested to know if I am the only one who attempts to keep the bare minimum on it.

My vanity is definitely on the smaller side compared to others but it has just enough space for me to put my top favorites. As you can see, I don’t really have anything makeup related on my vanity.

I really love my skincare products, I probably have far too many, but oh well at least I’ll have something available for every occasion and crisis! I typically keep a face mask on my vanity. Lately, it has been the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleep Mask (yes, it totally lives up to the hype!). Currently, I have the Laneige Overnight Lip Mask on display. Its pink packaging is super cute & gives me those summer vibes that I am desperately craving!

I find that perfumes have some of the most beautiful packagings and I love to keep one or two on display. It also makes it easy for me to grab, spray, and go when I am in a hurry. I am loyal to NEST Dahlia & Vines as well as the YSL Black Opium Perfume. Both have very strong and unique floral aromas that are extremely sexy and alluring… perfect if you’re going out on a date! Also, both of these perfumes are extremely long lasting and you only need 1-2 sprays – the bottles will last for months!

Honestly, I know nothing about notes of perfumes. Does anyone actually understand the language that is used to describe notes because I sure as hell don’t know what “Coffee Accord”, “Patchouli Essense”, or “Dewy Daffodils” smells like? Seriously, I have never smelled a dewy daffodil – have you? Maybe I’m just sheltered? Anyway here are the notes for you…

Black Opium Notes: Coffee Accord, Orange Blossom, Cedarwood Essence, Patchouli Essense

Dahlia & Vines Notes: Dewy Daffodils, Peony, Rose, Garden Vines

I have been testing out the Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 for my dry, damaged, and colored hair – wow I have such a way with words when describing myself… Anyway, this product goes fast and for $28 it makes me sad because it has really been a miracle hair treatment.

On my overly priced marble vanity, I also have my grandmothers beautiful, what Christians would call, the Old Testament and what Jewish people would call the TaNaKh. Actually, it’s called the Siddur.

Seriously though, the entire character of this book has the most beautiful detailing. It is also an Antique and has turquoise cabochons (which are some fancy stones). This was gifted to my grandmother from a family member in Isreal, which makes it just that much more special to me.

I also have some black roses which are pretty cool? They are just a decorative piece that kinda serves no purpose but I love them there anyway!

My best friend gave me a framed picture of her and I on my birthday this past year, she is literally the cutest and I adore her.

Lastly, I have Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook on display because I love Chrissy, she’s a bad bitch! Since I just moved into my first apartment not that long ago I realized I gotta learn how to cook. So who better to learn from than the queen of cooking herself!

That’s all that I have on my vanity. Surprisingly nothing makeup related, even though I am pretty sure that is the purpose of a vanity, but I like bending the rules and not conforming to societal norms. *please grasp that this is sarcasm & I understand that what goes on my vanity is literally irrelevant in life* 🙂

Seriously though be sure to let me know if you follow a traditional vanity display or if you do something similar to mine, I would love to know!

Thanks for keeping up with me! Xoxo

  1. Love that you have a Siddur on your vanity! You have a lovely piece there – the marble is fabulous! Right now I have a lighted magnifying mirror, a crystal water goblet that holds my makeup brushes, a glass jar that holds cotton swabs, a tissue holder that stays stocked, 2 small jewelry boxes that hold a few pairs of ratings each, a tall glass jar that holds dried corsages from the high school formals I attended my senior year (34 years ago LOL), a magnifying glass I picked up in Rosemary Beach, Florida with a lovely shell handle, a small candle from Kuhl Linscomb here in Houston, an empty perfume holder my cousin gave me and the bottom of another empty perfume holder, a silver container that holds a hair curler to keep my bangs off my forehead when I’m applying makeup, a crystal frame with a picture of my grandfather as a small boy on horseback, and an iPhone sanitizer. It’s too much – I prefer a clean surface, but I love my knickknacks and the rest is functional. I keep mu makeup in a drawer and tray to the side, but I use my amity to apply makeup every day and occasionally to film YouTube videos. You have inspired me to write my own post so I’ve now got a draft in que and I’ll link back to yours when I publish – thank you for the idea and the lovely look into a piece of your home!
