Monthly Favorites: May

Hello hello hello! I’m trying to figure out a blog intro, but I’m not sure if you even need a blog intro? Anyway, am I the only one who feels like May has gone on forever… I am going to safely assume you all feel that way as well 🙂 This is just a short post revolving around my monthly favorites

Since I graduated I haven’t had any sort of responsibilities – still trying to move past the fact that I am just a small spect in the world with no sort of meaning currently… super uplifting. But because I don’t have any sort of responsibilities currently, I haven’t had a need to do as much which means that I am using far fewer products than I normally would.

I don’t think I have ever seen someone include a water bottle in their monthly favorites. I am pretty sure on most days I drink more coffee than water. I get it, that is super unhealthy but I really don’t love water. To me, water is so bland and sort of a burden to have to consume. Because of my distant relationship with water, I bought a bunch of flavored water this month which I have been loving. The orange flavor is pretty dope 😛 I also decided to drink more water daily because I am an advocate for being conscious of your skin and its needs. If I don’t look like Jane Fonda by the age of 80 I will be incredibly disappointed.

This month I have been trying to distance myself from super complex skin care products, ya know the products that have 60 different ingredients for something that should be simple. I have been using small amounts of Johnson’s Baby Oil to moisturize my skin. I have also been putting the baby oil on my scars from my boob job. I got a larger bottle for the month of June and love love love the smell of the shea and cocoa butter oil 🙂 Don’t be surprised if this is in my next monthly favorites.

Sunday Riley takes all of my money but the products are well worth it. I haven’t tried out a product by this company that I don’t love and see immediate results from. I am totally contradicting myself from the previous comment about trying to step away from complex products because the Luna Sleeping Oil has a handful of ingredients…

Persea Gratissima (Extra Virgin, Cold Pressed Avocado) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Organic, Cold Pressed Concord Grape) Seed Oil, Rubus Fruticosus (Cold Pressed Blackberry) Seed Oil, Salvia Hispanica (Cold Pressed Chia) Oil, Dimethyl Isosorbide (and) Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil, Tanecetum annuum (Blue Tansy) oil, Anthemis nobilis (English Chamomile) oil, Eriocephalus punctulatus (Cape Chamomile) oil, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Neroli) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Blood Orange) oil, Cananga Odorata Flower (Ylang Ylang) Oil, Vetivera zizanoides (Vetiver) oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (and) Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, CI 61565 (Green 6), CI 60725 (Violet 2).

Butttt… because Sunday Riley is so amazing and I see a difference in my skin each time I use it, I am going to keep this product in my skincare routine for a long time. It makes my skin look plump and so much healthier. If you don’t listen to anything I ever say again that is fine but trust me on this, the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil is a game changer and well worth the investment. Even if you are scared to try a retinol skin care item, I still recommend it because it is so gentle 🙂

I haven’t worn a whole lot of makeup this month but when I did I constantly used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. This concealer has been an all-time favorite of mine for so many years now. The concealer itself is so lightweight and doesn’t look cakey on the skin. This is super important for me because I have very dry skin (even in the summer) and feel that I look best when I don’t have a ton of product under my eyes. Please Maybelline, never discontinue this product.

Moving on… when I have worn makeup I have used the Makeup Eraser and the Sephora Collection Black Magic Eye Makeup Remover. I was going to buy the Sephora version of the Makeup Eraser but decided not to because I already have the Makeup Eraser so there’s no need for 2 at the moment. I do not know what kind of sorcery these companies use to make it so only a cloth and warm water are needed to take off your makeup – yes even waterproof mascara. I haven’t used a single makeup wipe all month. Thank god because makeup wipes are $$$$$ it all really adds up.

I just had to repurchase the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream because I finally ran out of my other one… which lasted me about 8 months. I love this moisturizer, it is great for super dry skin like mine – and I am sure it is great for other skin types as well. I don’t have much else to say besides the fact that I love it and also hope it never ever gets discontinued 🙂

Kodak Kodak Kodak… can you believe they once were the leading technology for cameras? In 2013 on NYSE the price ranged from 20-30 dollars but now is around 5 dollars… ouch. The history of Kodak is pretty intense & interesting (if you like finance or economics) In 2005 they raked in about 5.7 billion dollars in sales, which is like 7.28 billion dollars in sales in current 2018 dollars. Anyway, I love Kodak Cameras, always have and probably always will… there’s something about taking a photo and not having to obsess over if it looks perfect or not.

Yep, I am stillll struggling to grow my hair since I bleached it last year. I am so gentle with my hair because I am just super lucky it all didn’t fall out of my head 🙂 One of the products that I love using in my hair is the BioSilk Silk Therapy Oil. I for one, love the smell and wish they would turn that scent into a candle. After I put this in my hair I notice an immediate difference, my hair isn’t nearly as rough or bland looking, it looks a lot healthier. I have noticed that when I use this oil I get a ton of compliments on my hair – and by a ton I mean like maybe 3 or 4 🙂 But still, it is worth the money!

Thank you so much for KUWK! 🙂 Definitely let me know if you love (or hate) any of the products mentioned above! Be sure to connect with me on Instagram and Pinterest as well! Xoxo
